Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Once I buy, how do I get my hands on my new sunbeds/solariums?
A. All of our products will be shipped to your door at no additional charge! Offer only available within Australia.
Q. If I purchase one machine, should I get buy a lay-down or a stand-up solarium?
A.

A lot will depend on what is already availalable in your area. There are lots of advantages of having both.

A lay-down will allow clients to completely relax while they tan. You can also give clients the option to switch off face-tanning globes in most sunbeds. On the downside some people develop lighter patches on pressure points from lying on the perspex. Some clients will tell you they believe a sunbeds are better for tanning legs because they lie closer to the tubes.

Customers who prefer the vertical units will tell you that they like the hygiene aspects. They are not in contact with the perspex and are not lying in a pool of sweat! There are also no light pressure points and with the more power tubes available up to 225Watts we can honestly say that tanning of the legs and feet is at least as good as with a sunbed.

Q. How many tubes should my solariums have?

This depends on a few things:

  • What your opposition are offering - You will need to at least match what your competitors are offering to gain your required market share.
  • Space available - The more powerful units require more space for ventilation.
  • Your budget - Can you afford a more expensive machine and will you make a return on your investment within a reasonable amount of time?
Q. Should I buy an automatic or manual spray-booth?

The Dual Spray Tanning Booth is the ultimate if it's within your budget. It gives you the option of both automatic and manual spray plus it cleans itself with the push of a button in between clients. You can also use a different colour in the spray gun.

The advantages of the automated booths is that staff are only required to give client instructions and push the automatic wash down button. These machines require plumbing to support the automatic wash-down process. They also eliminate the risk of a "good" or "bad" spray person.

The Coco Bay Manual Spray Booth allows you to use up to 5 colours. It requires no plumbing and is simple to clean.

Q. Are solarium tans or spray tans more popular?

This is a good question. I believe they are different markets. Spray tanning is relatively new in Australia and improving and increasing all the time.

There are many people who prefer to have a natural tan from sunlight or solariums. Busy lifestyles and undependable weather often prevent people from gaining and mantaining a tan outdoors and solariums are the closest alternative. They are also popular in cooler climates because of their warm, relaxing environment.

Spray tanning is great for people who want immediate colour, wish to deepen their existing tan, burn in sunlight or solariums and are concerned about UV skin damage.

Ideally, offering both types of tanning will cover the whole market.
